The League organises table tennis for all ages and abilities. It provides both competitive league table tennis, cup competitions, tournaments and practice facilities.  In the 2008/2009 season it has four divisions each comprising of ten teams playing twice the other nine teams in its division during the October to March season.

Twenty league teams play their home matches in small clubs mainly in the Cardiff area.  Fourteen teams play their home matches in the Welsh Institute of Sport, Sophia Gardens on Thursday evenings.

The League has a Community Club meeting in the Upper Hall of the Welsh Institute of Sport on Friday evenings. There is no joining fee.  All are welcome, particularly beginners.

Players under age 18 of all abilities play from 6pm to 8pm mainly in a team competition (teams consisting of two players) but others just practice against each other.  They pay £1.50 an evening.  Players of all ages and abilities play from 8pm to 10pm.  They pay £3 an evening.  It is hoped that those who do not already play in league teams will soon want to play in a team competition similar to the competition being played by the juniors.
