Eastern Valleys League

"Eastern Valleys" is a central-venue league. In 2004/5 season there were two divisions (of 3 player teams) and all the matches were played in the central-venue ... the sports hall at Cwmbran Sports Centre.

Currently this venue is uses seven tables, in half of the sports hall, on two evenings per week. One evening for Eastern Valleys league matches, and the other evening for the Cwmbran Table Tennis Club.

Hopefully, sometime in 2006, the whole sports hall will become available.

No decisions have yet been taken, but it is possible that during the 2005/6 season there will be three divisions. It is also possible that this new third division could be a junior division and that its central venue could be the North Gwent Table Tennis Centre at Abertillery.

The organisers of the Eastern Valleys league would be pleased to welcome any new and/or returning players who might like to play in this league in the 2005/6 season. Anyone interested is invited to make contact and visit the venue.

Since all matches are played in a central venue, it is not necessary for prospective new players to be members of any other club. At the central venue they will soon get to know other players of a similar standard, and discover any teams that have vacancies.
