New Competition- South Wales Regional Conference

Initiall posted by Neil Wright on 3rd Feb 2006

Gwent & Glamorgan County Associations - in conjunction with TTAW - are pleased to announce an exciting new weekly regional team competition the main details of which are set out below.

The pilot competition commenced on 29th January 2006 with 63 players registered for 24 teams, the first session was an amazing success. It is planned that it will become an annual event between October & April each season.

It is open to any pair within the region to enter. Entries may also (at management discretion) be accepted from a limited number outside the region.

It is intended to cater for all ages - from under 9s to veterans! - and for all abilities - from beginners in the lower bands, to experts in the higher bands. There will be prize money awarded each 6 weeks in the top band.  This may be as much as 100 for the winning team but the precise prize money will depend of course on entry levels.

We are still looking for more players to enter the league so that we can expand it - if you would like to enter please complete & return the form enclosed. The competition can only happen of course if there is a sufficient number of teams entering therefore we would urge you to give consideration of combining with a friend or friends to enter a team

Best wishes

Phil Avery
